Your List or Your Own Personal Declaration Of Independence…

blog_list_declarationYou may be sitting there thinking that you don’t know enough about internet marketing to even fool with it.  You might be thinking that you have a brick and mortar retail storefront so you don’t need to develop an internet strategy or that it wouldn’t work for you.  There are a lot of reasons that entrepreneurs and business owners give for not taking the time and effort to develop a list, but every one of them are costing them a ton of money.

Even if you have a main street retail business, developing a local list and dripping on it properly can bring a lot more enthusiastic customers through your door.  Yes you can target people within a mile or two of your business.  You can have thousands of people that live very close to your business that are just waiting for you to give them a reason to buy from you.

Did you know that people do business with you firstly because they know, like and trust you and secondly because of your low prices.  Unfortunately you think that you may have to accept customer scraps because Walmart just opened a new store in your neighborhood.  That simply isn’t true.  The relationships you develop with your customers are more important to them then the prices offered by a huge box store.

Your list extends that relationship.  Your list dramatically expands your communication levels with your customers and potential customers.  Your list gives you the opportunity to ask your customers what they like about your business, service, etc., and what they don’t like.  You can use your list to get better at what you do.

And if you are thinking that this doesn’t apply to you because your storefront is a website, think again.  A website only expands your customer reach, it doesn’t replace the necessity for developing relationships with those customers and potential customers.  Communication is the key to your long term success.  Imaging having 10,000, 20,000 or even 100,000 people on your list that you can talk to any time you wish.

Your list is your own personal declaration of independence.  It’s worth learning the many ways to develop it.
